Team, I am at a loss to figure out this problem. I bought a 1990 Allante around 4 years ago and had the engine serviced to get rid of a bad ignition miss. During the restoration of various parts (seats, alternator, fan, distributor, exhaust, lights, console, windows, wheels, etc.) I noticed that the AC would not come consistently. It kept cycling every 3-4 seconds but would not blow cold air. I tried to recharge the system with Freon and that did not help. Soon after, the electrical system went out on the vehicle and I had a credible mechanic restore all power. Everything in the car electrical works except the AC. We tried to hard wire the compressor to get it to recharge with Freon and BOOM! bad idea! The compressor seized and I had to remove it and replaced it with another new unit. I didn't want to use the old Freon, so I evacuated the system, changed the seals, checked for leaks and tried to recharged with 134a refrigerant. The compressor still does not come on and the information center indicates the compressor is off during power up diagnostics, even when AC is selected at the control center. Any test ideas?
