Hello Everyone,
My name is George. I will be picking up my 1987 Allante sometime tomorrow. The car only has 65k on it and is in very good condition. It even comes with a hard top.
This car will be for my dad. He is in his mid 60s and has never had a convertible. I picked this car out for him, because I know how much he will enjoy it.
A few questions....
The car's AC currently does not work. What are your recommendations? Top it off with R12 and pray that it doesn't leak out?
Convert it to R134a? What does that entail?
The wheels are not really my favorite, I think upgrading to a newer model of Cadillac wheel would really improve the styling of the car. Is the bolt pattern 5x4.53/5x115? Which other Cadillac models have interchanging wheels? Any recommendations? Not looking for 22 inch Escalade wheels, just maybe Seville STS wheels or something.
Any wise advise would be appreciated. I'm coming from the world of e34 BMWs so i'm no stranger to keeping a constantly problematic car in good running order. Bimmerforums helped me along the way, and I hope to build the same relationship with some of you, as I have with them.
Thanks!
George
